Collective Sigh of Relief

We collectively began breathing again when the space shuttle was down safely. Amazing the technology that has a craft moving at 5000 miles an hour only 80 miles out from landing -- and it doesn't overshoot the runway.

Who knows where the space program's going from here, with all the problems connected to this flight. I'm just relieved we're not going to be watching endless video loops of a spacecraft disintegrating across the sky for the next week. Nice to have something positive to focus on in a world that is getting increasingly hostile and unpredictable.
